    Caici Barnhart, Receptionist

I am a student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha majoring in Psychology and minoring in Criminology & Criminal Justice. Here at Paws n’ Claws Animal Hospital, I work as a receptionist. I have a passion for caring for others including their pets! I have been surrounded by animals my whole life and currently have two golden retrievers, a cat, and two birds in my family.

  • Kat Lipsys, LVT

Kat's passion for veterinary medicine started at a small pet store. She was later hired at an Equine clinic, which confirmed her career choice. After graduating from veterinary technology school in 2005 and passing her VTNE, she has worked at several clinics in Omaha, including VCA Midwest Veterinary Emergency and Referral. She's involved in various community programs and continues to learn every day. Kat is a RECOVER-certified nurse and excels in her profession.

  • Jo Kanter

With a lifetime of experience caring for and working with animals, I can say without hesitation that it's been a privilege. From growing up with cats, dogs, and cows, to tending to lions, tigers, and bears, my passion for animals has never wavered.

During my time at UNL, I cared for "Ben" the Kodiak Bear from "The Grizzly Adams" Series, as well as alligators and large parrots at The Folsom Children's Zoo. I volunteer at "Pride Rock" and "In-Sync" exotic wildlife rescues. One of the greatest joys of my career has been bottle-feeding and caring for lions and tigers.

From Nebraska to Texas, I've worked at various vet clinics, a zoo, and wildlife rescues. I am grateful to pursue my passion and make a difference in the lives of animals every day.
